Requirements to Send Push Notification From Kodular Apps
We will use the services of OneSignal to send Push Notifications to users. So at first, you have create an account on Onesignal. OneSignal is one of the best push notification senders. Along with push notifications, you can send In-App Messages with the help of Onesignal and free of cost. OneSignal uses the cloud messaging services of Firebase. Firebase provides services like Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging, Hosting, Authentication and other services to make a better app. So you also need to create an account with Firebase also.
Setting up OneSignal Account
After you have successfully made your account at Onesignal now it is time to set up the account to get the APP ID.
From Dashboard of Onesignal, you will see an option by the name of New App/Website.
In the Name of your app or website box enter your App name and then select Google Android (FMC) after that click on Next: Configure Your Platform.
Now login to your Firebase account and collect Firebase Server Key and Firebase Sender ID from Firebase and put them in the respective boxes.
In order to get Firebase Server Key and Sender Id, you have to create a project on Firebase first. After you have successfully created the project open the project and then select Project Settings. From Project Settings select Cloud Messaging. In Cloud Messaging you will see your Server Key and Sender Id copy them both and paste them in Onesignal.
After you put Firebase Server Key and Sender ID and click next. After that, a menu will come and tell you to select the target SDK. Select Server API from the menu.
After that, a new page will open like above. You will find the App Id of your app in Your App Id. Copy that App Id because it will be used to receive the Push notifications from Onesignal to your apps. If you forgot to copy the App Id from the above page then you can still find it from your Account Settings. App Id will be written beside your App Name.
Setting up your App
After you complete all of the above procedures and copied the App Id of your App then we are ready to use the App Id in our apps. Open your app project from Kodular Creator and then drag and drop the Push Notification component which is available in Social Section. After that select the Settings icon beside the Designer option. From settings select API Keys options. In the API Keys section, you will see 3 textboxes for three different APIs for Google Play Games, OneSignal and Google Maps. In the Onesignal App Id, the text box pastes the App Id you copied from Onesignal and you are ready to go.
How to Send Push Notifications from Onesignal to Kodular Apps
- Login to Onesignal
- From the Dashboard select the app name.
- After that select New Push from the right side.
- In Tittle put a short Tittle of the Notification you want to send.
- In Message type the messege you want to send.
- In Image paste an url of an image you want that the user need to see the Image.
- In URL put url of any website. You may use this option to send App Update Notification.
- In Large Icon put the url of the image if you want to show a small image beside the message.
- Type ya in small icon if you want to show your app icon instead of bell icon of your app.
- Then click send the push notification.
